RUNOFF ELECTION RESULTS ARE IN

  

Results are in for yesterday’s (Tuesday) runoff elections.

The winner of the Republican nomination for County Commissioner in Precinct One went to Don Koester with 247 votes while incumbent Zeb Heckmann had 164 votes.

Koester plans to be an outgoing listener to those in his precinct.

Koester will now face Democrat Lewis Houser in the November general election.

In other area races, on the Republican ballot in Austin County, Mark Lamp won the position of County Commissioner, Precinct One over Reese Turner 548 to 190.

County Commissioner, Precinct One on the Republican ballot in Grimes County went to Chad Mallett with 409 votes to Janet Green’s 277.

  2. Congrats to Mr. Koester. His win should send a message to the county commissioners that the citizens of Washington County are ready for a fresh perspective. I’m interested to see if Mr. Koester will follow through and provide this perspective.
