GOVERNOR’S SMALL BUSINESS FORUM BEING IN BRENHAM
The Governor’s Small Business Forum is being held at the Fireman’s Training Center in Brenham this morning hosted by the Washington County Chamber of Commerce.
MC, Brice Milliorn welcomed the Small Business owners to the forum as well as introduced two speakers to begin the forum.
Betty Russo, Community Relations for East Texas with the Office of the Governor, introduced that the Governor himself could not be in attendance but he had previously recorded a video. Governor Greg Abbott began the forum by praising Small Businesses in Texas for the addition of thousands of jobs in recent years.
Senator Lois Kolkhorst took a moment in her opening statements to give her thoughts on the damages caused to county roads from the recent storms.
Those in attendance heard from the Texas Secretary of State himself, Carlos Cascos.
The 2016 Small Business Awards were given to, Kwik Kopy Business Center and Glasco and Co. Landscaping in Washington, Guaranty Title Company and Heat Transfer Research Inc. in Grimes County and Burns and Reyes – Burns PLLC and Evers and Sons Inc. were awarded in Burleson County.
