HOHLT PARK WALKING TRAIL CLOSED FOR RE-BUILD
Due to the major flooding, a large percentage of the walking trail at Hohlt Creek Park was completely washed away, making it unsafe for citizens who normally walk, jog or run at the park. Hohlt Park has also experienced electrical issues with the trail lights that are actively being diagnosed and resolved.
Staff has been in contact with contractors to totally reconstruct the trail which includes a 3/16” metal edging and bringing the trail back to its full 6’ wide crushed granite surface. Park officials understand that this is an inconvenience to many park users, but at this time it is too unsafe to open back up. It is anticipated that proposals will be in by the end of the week and anticipated that the City will award the trail reconstruction work on the June 16th Council meeting.
