MOORMAN SERVES AS PANELIST AT ADVANCED ESTATE PLANNING STRATEGIES COURSE
R. Hal Moorman, partner in the Brenham law firm of Moorman Tate Haley Upchurch & Yates, LLP, recently served as a panelist for a three-hour presentation entitled “Thinking About the Grader When You Write Your Paper” at the 22nd Annual Advanced Estate Planning Strategies Course in Santa Fe, New Mexico. The panel’s presentation focused on the challenges facing lawyers when drafting trust mergers and modifications, wills, federal gift tax returns, federal estate tax returns and similar documents for clients in a way so as to avoid or minimize future problems with or examination by the IRS. The educational seminar for attorneys was sponsored by the State Bar of Texas.
Mr. Moorman is a Fellow and former Texas State Chair of the American College of Trust and Estate Counsel. He currently serves as a Regent for the College. Mr. Moorman is listed as a Texas Monthly Super Lawyer. Mr. Moorman is Board Certified in Civil Trial Law and Estate Planning and Probate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization and also recently served as Chairman of the Board of the Texas Board of Legal Specialization.
