WASHINGTON COUNTY COMMISSIONERS APPROVE REDUCTION IN SPEED ON FRITZ ROAD

The Washington County Commissioners Court approved to reduce the speed limit on Fritz Road in precinct 3 to 40mph during their meeting this morning (Tuesday). With no sign currently displayed, the speed limit is automatically set at 60mph. The addition of a center line double stripe for approximately 300 feet on each side of a hill on Fritz Road was also approved in order to limit passing in an area with little to no visibility.

The court approved a resolution in which Washington County has agreed to perform “equivalent match projects” on a bridge in Burton – Boehnemann Road at Indian Creek Branch and Caney Creek Road – in return for the “participation-waived project”. Commissioners also approved of the Interlocal agreement between Washington County and the Health and Human Services Commission, for the lease of space at the Health and Service Center. This lease renewal includes a 3 year lease instead of the previous 2 year lease.

Next week’s Commissioners Court meeting has been moved to Monday, the 13th from Tuesday the 14th due to commissioners being away at a conference. Accounts payable and a fairgrounds contract for a pig sale next year were both approved.
