STAR OF THE REPUBLIC MUSEUM JOINS BLUE STAR MUSEUMS PROGRAM

The Star of the Republic Museum, the Barrington Living History Farm, and Independence Hall at Washington on the Brazos Historic has announced the joining of the Blue Star Museums program. This program offers free admission to all active duty military personnel and five family members from Memorial Day (May 30, 2016) through Labor Day (September 5, 2016).

The Blue Star Museums program is a collaboration among the National Endowment for the Arts, Blue Star Families, the Department of Defense and more than 2,000 museums across America. The free admission program is available to any person that carries a Geneva Convention common access card (CAC); DD Form 1173 ID card (dependent ID); or DD Form 1173-1 ID card, which includes active duty U.S. military—Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard—as well as members of the National Guard and Reserve, U.S. Public Health Service Commissioned Corps, NOAA Commissioned Corps, and up to five family members.

Beyond the attractions of the Star of the Republic Museum, the Barrington Living History Farm, and Independence Hall, visitors can also enjoy the expansive park grounds along the Brazos River for picnicking, sightseeing and bird watching. There are group facilities for gatherings, and most facilities and attractions in the park are accessible to the physically challenged. Park grounds and parking are always free.
