HOHLT PARK TRAIL MAY NOT BE FIXED UNTIL NOVEMBER

Brenham City officials say repairs to the walking trail at Hohlt Park will likely not be completed for at least four more months.

The trail was heavily damage in the May flooding.

The damage was so extensive that repairs must be designed by an engineer.

City Public Works Director Dane Rau says the cost of the project means an engineer must be hired and the project bid out.  Rau has been working with O’Malley-Strand Associates on the project.

Rau sayd the city plans to open bids on August 10th and award a contractor on Aug. 18th.

Rau says he expects the project getting started around Sept. 1st.

City Manager Terry Roberts said last month that the city planned to ask the FEMA to help fund the repairs.
