PRAIRIE VIEW OFFICER CLAIMS THREAT OVER SANDRA BLAND CASE

A Prairie View Police officer claims Waller County's top prosecutors threatened to end his career if he came forward with what he says is evidence of wrongdoing in the Sandra Bland case.

Officer Michael Kelley tells the Associated Press, trooper Brian Encinia was on the phone with a supervisor last July after arresting Sandra Bland because he didn't know what charge she should face.

Encinia was indicted for perjury, but Kelley says he and others should have faced more charges.

Prosecutors strongly deny Kelly’s allegations, made earlier this week.

Prosecutors say Kelley is only coming forward to distract from his own indictment in a separate use-of-force case.

  1. Funny how people come out with new stories when they themselves are faced with charges for wrong doing. Sandra Bland was disrespectful from the start and wanted to incite rage in the officer. I think he did good in keeping his cool till he no longer could. She was in the wrong and now has a street named after her-he was doing his job and doing it with a belligerent person and he’s on trial. Now someone wants to say there was more involved? I think this officer is trying to stir up more trouble.
I am sorry that she killed herself, but she would have never been in that situation had she been nice, respectful and compliant AND someone in her family would have bailed her out!!! I do not see them taking their part of the blame for her death and they should!!!

    1. Totally totally agree……..it is the family who is more to blame if there is anyone to blame…….but looks like no one of authority wants to remind people of that.

    2. Its not a new story. The blue shield of silence is a real thing. Officers do not incriminate other officers or their department an in return they get the same. Someone was told to keep their mouth shut on the situation and now that his case is going to trial he want to tell the truth. The blue shield of silence failed this officer and now he’s retaliating by telling the truth. Why is the family to blame him? They want answers. They want truth like the rest of America. Don’t be so quick to side with the police forces and government on issues such as this. They will lie and hide to cover their own jobs and connections. What does this have to do with hilary clinton? People love to interject politics and party division into any argument these days. Hopefully we will all know the truth soon and not the fabricated one a superior told his officers to repeat to the public and in court.
