FAYETTE COUNTY AUTHORITIES SEIZE $6.4 MILLION IN HEROIN

Sgt. Randy Thumann and his K9 partner “Lobos” along with Deputy David Smith, conducted a traffic stop Monday morning on the IH-10 It was there that they met the 54-year-old driver, Andrea Hernandez-Gonzalez.
The officers found multiple discrepancies in the Hernandez-Gonzalez’s reason for traveling from Mexico to Houston. When questioned about drug trafficking, Hernandez-Gonzalez became extremely nervous. Consent was given to search the vehicle, and Sgt. Thumann and Deputy Smith soon discovered an aftermarket compartment built into the frame of the car.
When they searched the compartment, they found approximately 8 kilos of white Heroin with a street value of approximately $6,400,000. It was removed from the compartment and Hernandez-Gonzalez was arrested and transported to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
