CHAMBER OF COMMERCE HOSTS EMPLOYMENT LAW SEMINAR

  

The Washington County Chamber of Commerce will host an Employment Law Seminar on September 28th.

The event will feature presentations by Alexis Knapp and Nehal Anand of Littler Employment & Labor Law Solutions Worldwide. They will present an overview of various employment law issues in 2016. Topics will include an overview of the activities of the federal agencies, including the EEOC and DOL, as well as trends in litigation and claims by current and former employees in a variety of areas (Title VII, ADA, FMLA, PDA and more).

A major component of the program will be helping prepare employers facing the new FLSA/DOL overtime rule that takes effect December 1, 2016.  The presentation will be educational, but also preventive, with the goal of identifying areas where employers can mitigate risk and be proactive in preventing claims in these various areas.
