ANNUAL HANK WILLIAMS TRIBUTE TONIGHT
The Fayette County Country Music Club Opry will host their annual tribute to Hank Williams today (Monday).
The Opry will feature Jake Penrod, the King of Texas Twang. Penrod is a stark traditionalist, and has an uncanny resemblance to Hank Williams. He describes his singing style as sounding like “Hank Williams’ and Kitty Wells’ love child,” He is a former member of the Gladewater Texas Opry and has played many shows all over the state.
The show will be held at the KC Hall in La Grange at 7:30 p.m., with doors opening at 5:30 p.m. Admission is $5.00.
