NORMANGEE MAN DEAD AFTER CAR CRASH
A car crash near Normangee has left one man dead.
According to DPS, 44-year-old Marcos Rivera, of Normangee, died early Thursday morning after a car crash on Baston Loop.
Rivera was the passenger in an SUV driven by 33-year-old Gilberto Romero, also of Normangee. Authorities believe Romero’s vehicle hit a ditch and rolled over. Romero fled the scene, but was later found and arrested.
Romero has been charged with intoxication manslaughter and failure to stop and render aid during the crash. Rivera was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident is still under investigation.
