WASHINGTON CO. SHERIFF’S OFFICE NAMED LAW ENFORCEMENT TRAINING PROVIDER
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has officially been named as a Law Enforcement Contract Training Provider.
On Tuesday, the Washington County Sheriff's Office was officially named by the Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (T.C.O.L.E.) as a Law Enforcement Contract Training Provider.
The granting of this authority allows the Sheriff’s office T.C.O.L.E. certified instructors to train not only its deputies and jailers, but to also train local and surrounding county, city, and state law enforcement officers.

Previously, the sheriff’s office was dependent on other agencies, some which were considerable distances away, to provide state mandated training which resulted in tremendous costs to taxpayers.
The application process requesting this certification began over a year ago and the final approval and review process took place in Austin on Tuesday. That same day the certification was granted by T.C.O.L.E. Executive Director Kim Vickers.
