The Fayette County Country Music Club will host their monthly Opry next Monday, November 21st at the KC Hall in La Grange. opry

Performers this month include Paul Schlesinger, Stacey Stark and Neil Kulhanek.

Paul Schlesinger is a fiddle player and vocalist from Taylor, Texas who specializes in the traditional Texas swing music of the dance hall and honky-tonk era. Paul received his first fiddle lesson at age 23 from Perk Williams, the fiddler and vocalist on Jimmy Heap's 1954 hit recording of Release Me. Paul's musical career began in earnest in 1997 when he began playing with Bill Dowdy, a professional rhythm guitarist from Lexington, Texas. Paul and Bill's first nationally distributed CD, "Our Way," quickly sold out of its initial pressing. Paul plays with several musical groups around the Central Texas area, including his own Knights of Texas Swing.  He was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2012, and named its Country & Swing Artist of the Year in 2014. In 2015, Paul had the honor of playing fiddle for David Church, a world-known Hank Williams tribute artist who appears regularly on RFD TV.

Paul’s latest CD, Paul Schlesinger and his Knights of Texas Swing, was just released earlier this year. Taking 10 years to complete, it unites Paul with many veteran western swing performers whose recording histories date back to the 1940s. It has recently been nominated for an Academy of Western Artists Award in Western Swing, and received a 5-star review in the July issue of Country Music People, an internationally distributed magazine from the UK. As of October, the CD is the number one most requested album on the nationally distributed “Swingin’ West” western swing radio show. The track This Song Is Just For You has held the number two position for the past two months on the same list.

Stacey Stark has been performing on the Texas Opry circuit for many years.  Stacey is the stage manager and back-up singer for the South Texas Opry in Corpus Christi and also the Portland Opry in her hometown of Portland, Texas.  She loves traditional country music and it warms her heart when she sings a song that brings a smile to someone's face.

Neil Kulhanek was born and raised in Brenham, Texas and started playing guitar at the age of ten. He is known for his incredible guitar and steel guitar playing and has played with several notables such as Lyle Lovett, Kinky Friedman, Gary P. Nunn, B. J. Thomas, Johnny Rodriguez and many others.   In 1996, Neil decided to form his own band “Neil And The Real Deal” which has influences from blues, country, and rock-n-roll music.  The band’s high energy and fast moving show appeals to people of all ages. Neil is currently available for private guitar lessons. He is a mainstay in the Texas music scene; performing with his own band and with many others.

The show starts at 7:30 P.M. and the doors will open at 5:30 P.M.  Admission is $5.00
