IDENTITY OF MAN WHO DIED IN SEMI-TRUCK ACCIDENT RELEASED

  

The identity of the man who died in an accident on U.S. 290 between Giddings and Paige Monday morning has been released.

42-year-old Pascual Rueda-Orozco, of Houston, was headed west near milepost 632 when he crossed into oncoming lanes and hit another 18-wheeler head-on.

Rueda-Orozco died at the scene. The other driver was flown to University Medical Center Brackenridge for treatment.  The extent of the driver’s injuries are unknown at this time.

While law enforcement is still investigating the incident, DPS says the crash is an important reminder that drivers should stay alert behind the wheel no matter the circumstances.
