PARKS AND RECREATION BOARD TO DISCUSS HENDERSON PARK
The City of Brenham Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will meet on Wednesday to hear an update on the Henderson Park Revitalization Initiative.
Henderson Park is located just blocks away from Downtown Brenham and across the street from Fireman's Park. The 22 acre Park has played a significant role of the parks in Brenham history and is also a part of the 2 mile Hike n' Bike Trail.
The board will also be introduced to two employees of the Parks and Recreation Department- Alex Ibarra, the Blue Bell Aquatic Center Aquatic Safety Coordinator and Stephen Gerhard, the Parks Assistant Superintendent.
In other business, the board will discuss ADA access in the City of Brenham Parks and consider 2017 recreation events.
The City of Brenham Parks and Recreation Advisory Board will meet on Wednesday at 12 p.m. in the 2nd floor conference room of City Hall.
How about some security in Henderson Park! I love the Brenham park system and overall think the city does a great job, but Henderson Park is one I will not visit, especially early in the morning or in the evening. There have been robberies, vandalism, and all sorts of crime happen at this park. I would not spend any money renovating unless there was a way to make it more secure. If you are using that running or bike trail, you better run fast!
