CERT EMERGENCY RESPONSE TRAINING TO TAKE PLACE IN JANUARY
In January, Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training will take place in Washington County.
CERT training takes about 20 hours to complete and provides critical skills in emergency preparedness and response. When emergencies happen, CERT members can give critical support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to victims, and organize spontaneous volunteers at a disaster site. CERT members can also help with non-emergency projects that help improve the safety of the community.
There will be nine CERT Washington County training sessions plus a final simulation event. Each session will take place from 6:30 - 9:00pm at the Brenham Fire Department. An individual must complete all sessions to receive certification. The sessions include:
1/9/17 - disaster preparedness
1/16/17 - fire suppression
1/23/17 - disaster medical operations 1
1/30/17 - disaster medical 2
2/6/17 - search and rescue
2/13/17 - CERT Organization - ICS
2/20/17 - CERT and Terrorism
2/20/17 - disaster psychology
