36 ARRESTED IN MONTGOMERY COUNTY CHILD SEX STING

  

Montgomery County authorities say they’ve arrested 36 people for contacting children online for sex during an undercover operation.

The Montgomery County Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force carried out “Operation Safe Holiday”, which spanned three months.

Officials say the people arrested for the felony offense of online solicitation of a minor are accused of meeting up for sex with someone they believed was a minor. In some cases, the operation led to child pornography charges and attempted aggravated sex assault of a child charges.

District Attorney Brett Ligon says it is imperative for parents to stay involved with who their kids are communicating with online, since sexual predators are using the internet and social media apps to arrange meetings.
