BRYAN POLICE OFFICER SHOT, MANHUNT UNDERWAY
Multiple law enforcement agencies are searching Bryan neighborhoods, looking for a gunman who shot a police officer early this (Thursday) morning.
The officer was wearing a bullet proof vest, and has since been treated and released from the hospital.
Authorities say the officer was shot after the gunman robbed the Stripes store in the 2000 block of South College Avenue. News 3 is reporting police are looking for four men total. They believe that three of the men are Hispanic and one is African-American. Bryan Police haven't released any information about suspects as of yet.
Bryan police are asking people to stay out of the area outlined by the following streets:
- McKinney, north boundary
- Carson, south boundary
- Echols, east boundary
- Reese, west boundary
- South College from Carson to McKinney is still closed to traffic.
A reverse 911 call was made to all residents in the active search area, asking residents to exit toward the closest boundary.
Praying for the family of the officer shot, I’m sure they’re scared, and for the officers hunting this dirtbag down. Be safe guys!
