BRENHAM HOME SUSTAINS MINOR FIRE DAMAGE

  

A Brenham home sustained some minor fire damage Thursday afternoon.

The Brenham Fire Department responded to the report of a structure fire at 900 Independence Street just after 12:30 p.m. When they arrived, firefighters found a small fire on the front porch of the home.

The Fire Department put out the fire and removed part of the skirting of the porch to make sure it was fully extinguished. Officials says the cause of the fire was a discarded cigarette.
