BRENHAM FIRE CHIEF OFFERS FIREWORK SAFETY TIPS FOR NEW YEAR’S

  

Brenham Fire Chief Ricky Boeker spoke with Craig Montana this (Tuesday) morning on KWHI’s Community Corner about firework safety during the upcoming New Year’s celebrations.

Boeker says that residents should be aware that the city of Brenham prohibits the selling, storage, or use of fireworks within the city limits.

Fireworks will be allowed in Washington County this year, since there is not a burn ban in effect. Boeker says if someone chooses to use fireworks this coming holiday, it is important to read the instructions:

Boeker also says that sparklers, which are popular for young children to use, can present the greatest risk for injury:
