BRENHAM FIRE DEPARTMENT EXTINGUISHES VEHICLE FIRE

The Brenham Fire Department extinguished a vehicle fire Tuesday, preventing it from spreading to a nearby house.

Just after 4 p.m., the Brenham Fire Department responded to E Stone Street to the report of a vehicle fire.

Firefighters found a 2011 Ford F150 truck, which was parked close to a house, with the engine compartment fully engulfed in flames.

Brenham Firemen check the home to see if the fire extended into the eave or attic.

The fire was quickly extinguished and the BFD units checked for fire and smoke in the house. Firefighters found smoke in the attic from the burning truck, but no fire or heat was discovered in the house or attic space. The fire department used a ventilation fan to remove smoke from the attic space.

The truck was a total loss and the cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
