SPRING EGG ART WALK WINNERS ANNOUNCED

  

The winners for this year’s Spring Egg Art Walk have been announced.

Participants this year had a chance to win a cash prize in three categories: professional, amateur, and students 18 and under.

Awards were given for the Best of Show, Most Artistic and Most Creative. Winners were decided based on three factors: public voting (50%), success in the online auction (25%), judges voting (25%).

The Judge’s Award was based 100% upon the judge’s voting.

Main Street Brenham says has they had over 5,360 online votes which came in from 39 different US states, plus Australia, Mexico, Canada, Japan, Philippines, Dominican Republic and Bulgaria.

Winners this year include:

Best of Show   (This year it was a tie, with each team winning $250)

  • Aremi Muñoz – “Eggster Eggspression”
  • Alton Elementary PTO – “All the cool PEEPS are at Alton”

Student Category

  • Judge’s Award ($125): Alton Elementary 3rd Grade Gateway Class – “Egghead”
  • Most Artistic ($125): Kaitlin Kornegay – “Spring to Life”
  • Most Creative ($125): Madison Havard – “Fancy Nancy”

Amateur Category

  • Judge’s Award ($125): BBAC Lifeguards – “BBAC Hatchlings”
  •  Most Artistic ($125): Amanda Phipps – “Starry Eggbert”
  •  Most Creative ($125): Megan Lawhon & Kristin Todd – “Take the Cake”

Professional Category

  •  Judge’s Award ($125): Gail Breeland – “The Hare About Town”
  •    Most Artistic ($125): Alicia Tegg – “Glory”
  •   Most Creative ($125): Kenneth McGehee – “For Peeps Sake”

If you won a bid on an egg, an email will soon be sent to you to arrange pick-up.

Main Street Brenham asks that participants not move or pick up their eggs. Per the guidelines, eggs that are not bid on are now property of Main Street Brenham.
