BRENHAM BUS DEPOT TO HOLD LAUNCH PARTY

The Brenham Heritage Museum is holding a launch party at the newly restored, historic Brenham Bus Depot on May 19th.

The event will be held from 6 p.m. until 8 p.m. at the station's location, 313 East Alamo Street.

This will be the first event held at the former Kerrville Bus Lines Depot since the Brenham Heritage Museum acquired the property.

The Brenham Heritage Museum says the launch party will honor the USS Texas, the only remaining warship from World War I. The celebration comes as 2017 marks the 100th anniversary of the United States entering World War I.

The museum broke ground on the renovation project in 2014.

Initially the building was going to be converted into additional exhibition space, with a portion of it being leased out as a café. However, costs to renovate the space into a ready-to-use restaurant proved too expensive for the non-profit organization.

After the launch party, the public will be able to use the space for events. For more information about renting the space, call 979-830-8445.
