BRENHAM HS PERFORMING ‘METAMORPHOSES’
The Brenham High School theatre department will be performing Mary Zimmerman’s “Metamorphoses” in the high school’s Black Box Theatre, opening tonight (Thursday) at 7:00 p.m.
There will be two additional shows on Saturday, May 13 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m..
Set in and around a large pool of water onstage, "Metamorphoses" juxtaposes the ancient and the contemporary in both language and image to reflect the variety and persistence of narrative in the face of inevitable change. Nominated for three 2002 Tony Awards, including "Best Play.
“The Brenham High School Theatre Department continues to identify performances that not only will enlighten the audience but also challenge the students as they continue to excel in their performances, technical skills and study the art of theatre production,” stated Andrew Mueller, Brenham High School Theatre President.
“We hope the community will come out and support this show and see the number of talented individuals we have in our department that have recently been earned state awards and a few that are advancing to national competitions this summer.
The Black Box Theatre has limited seating and the audience is encouraged to arrive early for each show. Tickets are $5.00 each and are available at the door.
