BRENHAM MAN SENTENCED TO 30 YEARS IN PRISON FOR AGGRAVATED ROBBERIES

A Brenham man has received 30 years in prison after pleading guilty for his role in two aggravated robberies on June 26, 2014 in Brazos County.

29-year-old Katrell Lindsey and his co-defendant, Deandrea Phillips, first robbed a man around 12:15 a.m. They put a gun to his head and demanded money. They also stole his wallet, shoes, and cell phone.

Eight minutes later Bryan Police received a call from another robbery victim about one mile away from the first. The second victim was also threatened with a firearm, but was able to convince the pair that she didn’t have her purse, so they fled.

Both victims de-scribed two black males in a maroon car as the suspects.

Bryan police found the suspect vehicle and pursued it as it tried to run from them. A team of law enforcement com-posed of Bryan PD officers, Brazos County Sheriff’s deputies, and state troopers from DPS eventually stopped the fleeing felons. They then caught the two as they ran from the vehicle to avoid being caught.

Property from the first robbery was located along their flight route and inside of the car. By all accounts Lindsey was the getaway driver during the robberies.

Lindsey will have to serve at least half of his sentence before becoming eligible for parole.

“Robbery takes more than just property, it also steals a citizen’s sense of safety and security” said Assistant District Attorney John Brick. “If you threaten another’s life over property, you deserve a lengthy prison sentence.”

  1. Thanks goodness these crimes happened in Brazos County. They would’ve been handed a much lighter sentence here in Washington County

  2. Awesome job Brazos County these two guys have gotten away with way too much criminal activity not only here in Washington County but other places as well!! This is good example of finally catching up to them.
