COMMISSIONERS WILL HOST HEARING OVER LEASE OF PROPERTY AND MORE JUNE 6TH
The Washington County Commissioners will host a public hearing over the lease of 1.2305 acres of land already owned by the County for the “purpose of oil and gas development,” with the land being located off of FM 1697, situated in the J.B. Miller Survey A-85 and T.H. Borden Survey A-16, being in the same location Burton Fire Station and .2305 acre adjacent to the Fire Station.
They will then act upon the approval to advertise for sealed bids for the lease of that same acreage.
In addition, the Commissioners will act upon a request by the Hotel Occupancy Tax Board for an additional $25,000 in HOT funding for next year.
In anticipation of Independence Day and the parade held, the Chappell Hill Chamber of Commerce seeks to close the following streets on the 4th of July, including Cedar St from FM 1155 to around 200 yards before Chappell Hill’s Historical Society’s Circulating Library, Sycamore Street (west) from 1155 to FM 2447, and Poplar St from 1155 to Haller St.
They will also discuss a request from the Independence Committee Events to close Lueckemeyer Road, Hood Hotel Road, TS Saul Road, and Sam Houston Road on the same day.
The Commissioners will discuss and act upon the idea of cancelling their June 13th meeting, after the majority of Council members will be attending the South Texas County and Commissioners Conference, and also grant the County Treasurer, Auditor, and Judge the authorization to pay any necessary bills in order to avoid late fees or penalties.
