Performers this month are:

Winedale German Singers- Back in 1977 Lonn Taylor was the curator at the Winedale Historical Center and he decided the pioneer architectural buildings needed to be preserved.  A group decided they wanted to preserve the Texas German culture in song.  Ronnie Sachs was teaching German in Round Top and he gathered songs as well as the area church choirs gathered songs.  When the husbands decided the women were having ‘zu viel spass” (too much fun), they joined the ladies and their first performance was at the Spring Festival in 1977 at Winedale.  The group needed an instrument to accompany them so Dwight Nittsche joined the group and offered an accordion and became their musical Director.  Making music is the primary purpose of the group, but all have a love of the memories and a desire to honor and preserve the heritage of the strong folks who settled this area.  Most of the group are proud Texans whose grandparents came from Germany.  None of the singers are professionals and there are no auditions and you do not need to read or speak German to join.

Bryan Su has been entertaining and singing from the moment he could talk and walk. Currently living in Sugar Land Texas, he attends Stephen F. Austin High School and plays with the Austin High School Orchestra. Since he was a young child, Bryan has always had an interest in playing certain instruments and singing along with karaoke tracks with a fascination with music. He started learning the piano at the age of 5 and at the age of 14, he started vocal lessons and started learning how to play the fiddle. Over the years, Bryan has played at several different shows all across Texas and won many different talent contests, most notably the Fort Bend County Fair Talent Contest in 2016. Now, at age 16, Bryan Su is an accomplished musician who strives to continue singing country classics and entertaining for the people. He hopes that one day, he will be able to sing on the Grand Ole Opry and tour around the world to sing for people.

Dana Rowan was born and raised in Houston. Like most singers, her parents instilled a strong love for country music.  Dana is married to her soul mate, Bob, of 36 years.  In the past, Dana produced the shows for the Jacinto City Opry until it closed in 2012.  From there on, has been booking the entertainment for the Pearland Cowboy Church. Dana & Bob assisted with the last taping of TruCountry, on location in Hamilton, Tx which aired on RFDTV.  They will, also, be assisting with the next taping, at the end of this month, in Brady, TX.  Most often Dana is behind the scenes working to put others on stage, but does love to belt out a Connie Smith tune, every now and then.  She will also be singing at the Four County Opry, in Industry, in August & the Liberty Opry in September.
