SITUATION AT WALLER JUNIOR HIGH CLARIFIED

  

The Waller Junior High School campus, formerly the High School campus, is under construction according to Waller County ISD officials. 

Renovations will take place across the district for a 2 month window, and began with Waller Junior High. According to the Superintendent, part of that demolition included replacing AC, lighting, and water pipes.

The warning signs and tape on the doors are standard precautions. As an older building, standard precautions require that a building the age of the Junior High be taped off during the demolition for any possible asbestos (even if the building doesn't have it), simply due to the age of the building.

According to the district, the campus was closed a few days ago, after school was out for the summer, to begin the construction process. The campus will be opened again in a few days when the upgrades are complete.
