CITY COUNCIL TO LOOK AT CURBSIDE RECYCLING PROPOSAL

The Brenham City Council will hold a work session Thursday to hear a proposal for a private company to offer curbside recycling in the city.  Matt DuPont of Bluebonnet Recycling has approached the city about offering curbside recycling to local residents and businesses in Brenham by utilizing 14 gallon bins and picking them up for a nominal fee.  The council will discuss the different issues that would be involved in the service.

The council will also be looking at applying with the State of Texas for the Hazard Mitigation Grant Program.  The grants would be utilized for projects to mitigate future damage from flooding related to the May 2016 event.  The city is expected to file for the grants for several projects.

Also on the agenda for Thursdays meeting is the possible awarding of a contract for Bulk Water Treatment Chemicals for the city.

The Brenham City Council meeting is scheduled for 1:00 PM Thursday on the second floor of City Hall.
