AUSTIN COUNTY HURRICANE AID EFFORTS

Austin Co. will be a staging area for military personnel like the National Guard and the Coast Guard in the Hurricane Harvey effort.

Officials are also trying to send food and clothing to areas impacted by Harvey.

Yesterday (Tuesday) they collected a trailer full of clothing and personal care products to send to Wallis.

Officials says their first priority is getting food and dry clothes to the smaller towns in the area that have been impacted.

The drop off points for items in Austin County include:

Food Preparation & Drop Off at St John Lutheran Church.

Clothing & Personal Care Items Drop Off at Bellville Chamber of Commerce.

Animal Food Drop Off at Linseisen's Feed and Supply.

They are also looking for volunteers to cook and prepare brown bag lunches at St John Lutheran 520 North Holland, Bellville.  Volunteers to accept/sort/label/load clothing and personal care items at the Bellville Chamber of Commerce.  And, people to volunteer to help take care of pets and other animals.
