LOCAL VFW POST DONATES TO NATIONAL GUARD EFFORTS
Friday, at the monthly steak and sausage supper of the local VFW Post 7104, the members invited the local National Guard to dinner.
Only three Guardsmen were able to attend due to the rest of the members’ deployment to the Houston area or the Gulf Coast.
The three local troops informed the VFW members of what was going on and what supplies were needed.
Post 7104 pledged to match any donations made that night. Saturday the quartermaster delivered $1,000 in needed items.
Post Commander Ben Seeker says the post is, “proud to have helped our National Guard neighbors and military personnel who are responding to the situation.”
