46TH ANNUAL COW CALF CLINIC OCTOBER 27TH

  

The 46th Annual South Central Texas Cow Calf Clinic will be coming to the Washington County Fairgrounds later this month.

The South Central Texas Cow Calf Clinic and Trade Show is held annually at the fairgrounds Sales Facility in Brenham.  This year’s show is set for Friday, October 27th beginning with registration at 7:30 a.m., with the program starting at 8:00.  The 2017 Clinic will focus on adding value to the calf crop with topics including “Understanding the Value of Your Calves”, “From a Buyers Perspective to Backgrounding/Preconditioning”, and “Return on Investment for Producers”.

Besides the presentation, attendees can watch live cattle demonstrations and participate in contests testing their knowledge and skills.  They will also have time throughout the day to visit tradeshow vendors and network with producers and speakers.  One lucky attendee will win a commercial heifer purchased at the Washington County Fair.  The Washington County Beef and Forage Committee and Texas Farm Credit have partnered together the last four years to make that giveaway possible.

The South Central Texas Cow Calf Clinic is a product of area AgriLife Extension Agents and Beef and Forage Committee members from Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Fayette, Grimes, Harris, Lee, Waller and Washington Counties.  KWHI 1280 will provide live broadcast reports from the 46th Annual Cow Calf Clinic throughout the morning on Friday, October 27th.
