OKTOBERFEST IN BURTON SATURDAY

  

The Burton community will celebrate “Oktoberfest” this Saturday.

Coordinated by the Burton Chamber of Commerce, Oktoberfest activities will go on all day Saturday throughout the town.  From 9:00 ‘til 5:00 there will be live music, food and community vendors along the Burton streets.  The Humane Society will host “Animal Field Fun” in the park, where there will also be Weenie Dog Races at 10.  There will be children’s activities and special events at local businesses, and the Butterfly Garden at the Burton Railroad Depot will be dedicated.

The Burton Bridge Ministry will actually kick off Octoberfest with their first Fun Run early Saturday morning.  Featuring 5K and 1K race/walks, registration will be from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m., with the opening ceremony at 7:30.  You can also register for the Fun Run online at www.iruntexas.net.

Proceeds will benefit the Burton Bridge Ministry Scholarship Program for Burton High School.
