SOUTH CENTRAL TEXAS COW CALF CLINIC TODAY

  

The Washington County Fairgrounds is hosting the 46th Annual South Central Texas Cow Calf Clinic and Trade Show today (Friday).

Registration begins at 7:30 this (Friday) morning at Cow Calf Clinic, which is held annually at the fairgrounds Sales Facility in Brenham.  This year’s program, which begins at 8 o’clock, will focus on adding value to the calf crop with topics including “Understanding the Value of Your Calves”, “From a Buyers Perspective to Backgrounding/Preconditioning”, and “Return on Investment for Producers”.

Besides the presentation, attendees can watch live cattle demonstrations and participate in contests testing their knowledge and skills.  They will also have time throughout the day to visit tradeshow vendors and network with producers and speakers.  One lucky attendee will win a commercial heifer purchased at the Washington County Fair.  The Washington County Beef and Forage Committee and Texas Farm Credit have partnered together the last four years to make that giveaway possible.

The South Central Texas Cow Calf Clinic is a product of area AgriLife Extension Agents and Beef and Forage Committee members from Austin, Brazos, Burleson, Fayette, Grimes, Harris, Lee, Waller and Washington Counties.  KWHI 1280 will provide live broadcast reports throughout the morning from the 46th Annual Cow Calf Clinic.
