The man suspected of killing a DPS trooper has been transferred to a Central Texas jail.

32-year old Dabrett Montreal Black of Lindale, was transported this weekend from the Brazos County Jail to Limestone County.

Black is charged with killing trooper Damon Allen during a routine traffic stop Thursday on I-45 in Fairfield.

Black fled the scene, leading to a massive manhunt that ended on FM-1488 between Hempstead and Prairie View in Waller County.

Several reports say Black confessed to investigators that he shot and killed Allen during the traffic stop.  DPS officials have confirmed that the shooting was captured on the patrol car’s dashboard camera.

Black is charged with one count of capital murder with no bond.

He is also being held on several charges from other counties, including aggravated assault of a public servant and evading arrest.

Funeral services for Trooper Damon Allen will be held Friday morning at 10:00 a.m. at the Mexia High School football stadium.

Governor Greg Abbott has ordered all state flags to fly at half-staff in honor of Allen.
