SEARCH FOR SUSPECT IN GRIMES CO. HIT AND RUN

Grimes County officials are looking for information leading to the person responsible for a fatal auto-pedestrian accident on State Highway 105 East near Navasota, Monday.

35-year old Michael Bell of Navasota was believed to be walking westbound on the shoulder of 105 when he was struck from behind by an unknown vehicle.

Investigators say Bell was seen walking in the area early that morning in dense fog alongside of the roadway.

Investigators were able to determine that the vehicle involved is believed to be a 1997-2000 Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that is possibly dark green.  The truck should have a broken headlamp, damage to the front end, and a missing antenna.

Investigators say it is possible that the driver did not realize what they hit and are asked to come forward.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Grimes County Crime Stoppers at 936-873-2000.  You can remain anonymous.

If your information leads to an arrest and/or indictment, you may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
