(Burleson Co. Jail)
A wanted murder suspect has been arrested after a lengthy standoff, Thursday in Caldwell.
Authorities say murder suspect Frankie Lee Bell, Jr. surrendered to police just after 5:30 p.m. Thursday.
Officers from the Bryan Police Department's tactical and crisis negotiation team responded to the home on Alligator Street.
The standoff lasted about two hours. Bell is wanted for two counts of murder and two counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection to the double homicide in Bryan, October 3rd of last year.
Investigators said they got a tip around 11:00 a.m. that Bell and another suspect were in Caldwell, at a home belonging to a family member.
Police say Bell and Marcus Ray are two of at least three masked persons who entered the home of Terant and Dominque Franklin. It is believed that they were attempting to rob the Franklins of money and drugs.
Four adults were held at gunpoint when the robbery went bad causing two to be killed, a third person to be injured and the fourth person escaped with two children.
The two children were never threatened and were in another room when the shooting occurred.
