COMMISSIONERS ACCEPT DONATION OF LAND FROM CITY OF BURTON

Washington County Commissioners accepted a 2 acre tract of land from the City of Burton this (Tuesday) morning. The property is adjacent to the land purchased last year by the county for the construction of the new EMS sub-station in Burton. It was originally set aside by the City of Burton for a portion of Colorado Street, but was never used.
In other action, commissioners approved several road crossing for utilities. They approved an emergency road bore for a water line repair on Fischer Road. Commissioners also approved a road bore for a water line to service a new subdivision on Fischer Road. Both were for PGMS – Central Washington County Water Supply Corporation. They also approved a power line crossing for Bluebonnet Electric Coop on Chadwick Hogan Road. The commissioner’s court routinely approves road bores and utility crossings of county roads that are performed by the respective utility companies. The county does not pay for the road bores or utility crossings, only that their approval is needed before the work is started.
The commissioners also approved a temporary above ground water line for GeoSouthern Energy Partners that will run along Lange Lake Road, Hummingbird Road, and Old Mill Creek Road in Precincts 3 and 4. The temporary water line will be used for oil and gas exploration.
Commissioners also renewed the no-cost contract for the Affordable Care Act Reporting and Tracking Service provided through the Texas Association of Counties. They also received a number of routine monthly reports from county Departments.
