BLUEBONNETS POPPING UP ACROSS THE COUNTY

Bluebonnets have been spotted popping up across the county just in time for the annual wildflower season.  Washington County Visitors Bureau Director Jenny Mills says this season looks like it will be a good one for wildflowers:

Mills says she has spotted a lot of Indian Paintbrushes on 290 west.  She said it’s still very early in the season, but it looks promising. Mills says the best locations to view bluebonnets and other wildflowers will be posted on visitbrenhamtexas.com under the wildflower watch tab.  With spring break beginning next week, Mills says that the wild flowers will still be coming up, but by the end of spring break, they should be some areas where people can take photos.  Mills encourages drivers to get off the beaten path and explore the smaller county roads for wildflower locations.  Two county roads she recommends exploring are Hoddeville School Road and Wauls Legion Road.  As always, the Visitors Bureau asks everyone to be careful and respectful.

Mills reminds everyone also to keep an eye out for snakes and fire ants.  Mills says they will begin posting wildflower locations at visitbrenhamtexas.com and their Facebook page.  The Visitors Bureau also offers an app that can be downloaded to your phone.  The app is Visit Brenham Texas and is available for both Apple and Android phones.
