FIRE AND ICE COOKOFF AT INDEPENDENCE
The annual “Fire & Ice Cookoff” continues today (Saturday) in historic Independence.
Today’s (Saturday’s) competition begins at 10 o’clock this (Saturday) morning with the Chef’s Choice and Beans judging. Chicken will be judged at noon, pork and ribs at 2:00, and brisket at 4:00. Awards for all of the cookoff competitions, including last (Friday) night’s Steak Shoot Out and Margarita contests, will be presented at 6 p.m.
Independence Community Events uses proceeds of the “Fire & Ice Cookoff” for the restoration of the historic Independence School House on the town square.
