TEXAS ARTS AND MUSIC FESTIVAL MAKES DONATION TO SCHOOLS

  

The Art Departments and Brenham and Burton High School each received a $1000 check from the Texas Arts and Music Festival this (Tuesday) morning.  The presentation was made in front of the owl mural that was painted during the festival last fall.

Texas Arts and Music Festival chairman Brad Stufflebeam said “This is the second year we are able to give back to our local students. We are proud of the success of our festival, but most importantly that we are able to provide resources for students to pursue their passion in arts and music,”

Students from Brenham and Burton visited with artists during the 2017 festival and learned about the many steps involved in creating large works of art. This year, area students will have the opportunity to showcase some of their artwork in a new pop-up gallery.

Last year’s Texas Art and Music Festival had over 4,000 people in attendance and featured live entertainment on multiple stages, pop-up galleries, art cars, vendors and live mural artists. Plans are underway for the 2018 festival which will take place in historic downtown Brenham on October 20. For more information about the event visit www.texasartsandmusicfestival.com
