LOCAL FFA COMPETES IN AREA EVENT

The Brenham FFA sent two teams to Tarleton State University in Stephenville, last week to compete in the Area 3 Dairy Cattle Evaluation and Vet Science Career Development Events.

Brenham FFA's Vet Science team had a good year and learned much along the way.

FFA's Dairy Cattle team also did well this year with one member having an exceptional day at Area. Mattie Niebuhr, a junior at Brenham High School, made her way into the First Place spot at Area out of 120 individuals. Brenham also placed 9th in Area as a team.

These events teach students about real life experiences in preparation for a future in the agriculture sector, such as identifying tools used in veterinary medicine and placing classes of dairy cattle used for milk production.
