APRIL BUILDING PERMITS TOTAL NEARLY $1.5-MILLION

  

The City of Brenham issued 29 building permits in April for nearly one-and-a-half million dollars.

Permits for April totaled $1,482,741, nearly a half-million dollars less than the total from last April of $1.9-million for 23 permits.

The single largest permit for the month was for $220,000 to the Salem Fire Department for work on their station on Salem Road.

Ten permits were issued last month for new residences in the county, for a total of $1,034,900.  For the year, 21 new residences have been permitted for a total value of $2,369,931.

Ninety-two permits have been issued so far this year, for a total of $16,089,170; compared to 179 permits at this same time last year, worth $12,221,546.
