BISD TO OBSERVE ‘SCHOOL LUNCH HERO DAY’ FRIDAY

The Brenham School District will honor School Lunch Hero Day, Friday.

To celebrate their hard work and commitment, Brenham schools will honor their child nutrition department.

This day, celebrated annually since 2013, provides an opportunity for parents, students, school staff and communities to thank those who provide meals to 30 million of America’s students each school day.

Child Nutrition Director, Sandra Baxter, says “School nutrition employees must balance many roles and follow numerous federal, state and local regulations to ensure safe and healthy meals are available in schools.  School Lunch Hero Day provides the opportunity for the community to thank these hard working heroes.”

Brenham ISD Child Nutrition School Lunch Heroes have served 438,910 lunches and 192,030 breakfasts to the students of Brenham ISD for the 2017-18 school year.

Please join Sandra Baxter and Brenham ISD on School Lunch Hero Day to recognize and thank these hard working heroes.
