TRACEY COX RUNNING FOR BURTON SCHOOL BOARD
Three people are running for two at-large positions on the Burton School Board in Saturday’s election.
Challengers Tracey Cox and David Warner, along with incumbent Ande Bostain are vying for two positions the board.
Tracey Cox is a former teacher with the Burton School District and says extensive research is needed before the district goes before the voters with another bond issue, such as the 18-million dollar question that was defeated last year…
Cox, who considers herself a fiscal conservative, says school security is also a key issue that needs to be addressed. She says she sees a need for an on-campus armed officer or exploring the possibility of qualified and trained armed teachers. She says it’s important to prevent the possibility of a problem before it happens.
Cox says she feels her experience as a teacher and parent in the district makes her a logical choice for a spot on the school board…
Incumbent Brian Jaeger remains on the ballot, but he resigned from the board in April.
The Burton School board election is Saturday. Voting will take place in the Burton High School lobby.
Also on the ballot, Jeff Harmel and Ricky Ripple are running to fill the unexpired term of Ronnie Hohlt.
