BRENHAM ENHANCING PEDESTRIAN WALKWAYS
Brenham Public Works and Main Street Brenham have been working with The Texas Department of Transportation to enhance visibility of downtown pedestrian walkways.
Brenham City Manager James Fisher, says the city’s goal, ‘is to make everyone safer downtown.”
The Street Department is working on highlighting crosswalks with reflective paint and adding crosswalk signage to the crosswalks along Alamo and Main and the side streets that abut Alamo and Main.
City officials say these enhancements, along with repainting the “No Parking” zones, should help improve pedestrian safety downtown.
Officials say the markers will be taken down during today's Maifest Parade, then returned following the parade.
