VIDEO – CHAPPELL HILL MUSEUM TO HOST WWI EXHIBIT

The Brenham Heritage Museum and the Chappell Hill Historical Society are opening a joint exhibit this weekend.

“World War I: Into the Raging Storm: Texas, Washington County and the Great War,” is set to open tomorrow (Saturday) at the Chappell Hill Historical Society’s Museum.

Jo Ann Wolf, Chair of the Brenham Heritage Museum Board of Directors said the museum is excited to bring this multi-media and interactive experience to Texans young and old and appreciate the opportunity to work with the Chappell Hill museum.

Wolf says “This has been a culmination of a five-year project, to coincide with the 100th Anniversary of the First World War to create an exceptional exhibit for the public to enjoy.”

Joel Romo, President of the Chappell Hill Historical Society says the exhibit will remain open through November 14.  Romo says he hopes that school children, historians and the general public will take advantage of this historical exhibit.

Brenham Heritage Museum Director Doug Price says, “Washington County has never seen such an exhibit in a local venue.”

The Chappell Hill Historical Society Museum is located at 9220 Poplar Street in Chappell Hill.  Museum hours are Wednesday-Saturday, 10AM-4PM and Sunday 1-4PM.  For additional questions visit www.brenhamheritagemuseum.org or www.chappellhillhistoricalsociety.com
