BURTON SWEEPS HOLLAND IN AREA ROUND

GAME-1
Aaron Kohring fired a two-hit shutout as the Burton Panthers beat Holland, 4-0 in the opener of the Region IV/2A Area Playoffs.

The Panthers (21-9) broke a scoreless tie with one run in the fifth inning, then added three in the sixth.

The Panthers managed just four hits off Holland (16-11) pitching.

Caleb Fuchs tripled and drove in a run.  Bailey Deramus had a single, scored a run and drove in a run.  Demonderick Winters singled and scored a run.  And, Cade Weiss added a single.

GAME-2
Friday night the Burton Panthers had a tougher time against Holland, but was still able to pull off the sweep, defeating Holland 10-8.

Burton starting the night red hot plating 5-runs in the top of the 1st inning. Aaron Kohring had a 2-run double and Cade Weiss singled 2 more runs in. Kohring also batted a run in with a single in the 4th inning.

Holland woke up on Friday night plating 3-runs in the second inning and 5 more in the 4th, to lead 8-7 at that point.

The Panthers would put the game away in the 5th with 3-runs. Caleb Fuchs had a RBI single and Cash Callahan belted a double to bring another run in. That's where the game stood for the rest of the night.
