WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO MEET TUESDAY

  

Washington County Commissioners will be canvasing the votes from the Special Election for the District 13 State Representative during their meeting this morning (Tue).

None of the 3 candidates in the election received a majority of the votes, presumably forcing a run off special election.  The top two finishers in the election, Ben Leman and Jill Wolfskill agreed last week, that the loser in the primary runoff election on May 22nd will withdraw from the special election runoff.  That will allow the winner to take office immediately and save the taxpayers the cost of a special election runoff.

Also on today’s agenda, commissioners will consider the purchase of a Compact Track Loader for the Road and Bridge Department.  They will also consider a subdivision variance request for a property on Hohenwalde School Road.

A number of county departments are scheduled to present their monthly reports to the commissioners including, the Sheriff’s Office, 911 Dispatch, EMS, and the IT Department.

Commissioners will also consider rescheduling their next meeting one day earlier.  They will consider moving the May 22nd meeting to Monday, May 21st.
